It's been awhile...

Sorry for the lack of posting - since my sisters wedding I have been working around the clock (lucky to have job so can't complain) - I'm exhausted now though and I had no energy left for posting. I'm sad that both our weddings are over and I loved all the planning involved in both!

This is a pic of me walking my niece up the aisle, she was so gorgeous and at 18months is just so much fun! My sister wouldn't want pics of her up - but when we get the professional shots I'll
try twist her arm - she was so beautiful, calm and relaxed. We had
an amazing day!

Wall tattoos...

This great wall tattoo is from beepart on etsy.

My parents...

While looking for childhood photos for my sisters hen I came across the above photos of my parents.

1. This is the first night they met (obviously they hit it off right away!!).
2. A ball they attended.
3. Their wedding day - they are married 39 years next week and they are still so in love, they have given me a great belief in marriage. They compromise and put each other first every day.

May we all be so lucky!

Our honeymoon...

I just remembered that we headed off on our honeymoon this day 7 months ago! I'd love to be back there... still on such a high from the wedding. We went to the Maldives and it was paradise and everything a honeymoon should be.

A relaxing and fun weekend...

As I mentioned last weekend was my sisters hen. We had a very relaxing, fun weekend and everything went very smoothly. We stayed in these modern houses on the grounds of the 5 star Castlemartyr Hotel in East Cork. I have been to a lots of hen weekends in the last year and the service we received here was far superior with all towels provided and milk, bread and cereals left in all the houses. (On most of the other hens soap wasn't even provided!) We rented the houses through Natural Retreats (we didn't mention that it was a hen weekend!!)

On Friday night after a spa treatment, people arrived at different times so I made cocktails and we had some nibbles. It was great as everyone got to know each other and it was very relaxed! Saturday morning girls went for a swim, cycled the estate on the bikes provided or walked the Hotels Dogs!!

Saturday afternoon 26 of us enjoyed afternoon tea in the hotel and it was delicious! We started the celebrations that night in one of the houses where I lit 70 candles to set the mood and we drank champagne with strawberries and dressed the bride-to-be up a little! We arranged a mini bus to travel to a lovely local restaurant The Woodland where we had a 6 course meal + lots of wine for 50euro a head! Very reasonable indeed! As it was late and my sister was feeling unwell we headed back to the houses and danced away to a great playlist my husband had supplied!

Sunday morning we all had breakfast and hit the road, hungover but very relaxed!

The wedding countdown is on now...only 3 weeks  to go!!

I spotted this fantastic wedding invite on Design Sponge it's by Graphic Designer Matt Dorfman of Mother Board. I love the type but the story is the real star!

where I wanted to get married...

when we were planning our wedding I really wanted to travel to St. Bartholomew’s Church in the Czech Republic which was designed by Maxim Velcovsky of Qubus Design. I love the mix of modern crisp chairs against the stark walls of the church, the amazing chandelier and persian rugs. In the end we decided to stay put and got married in my local church, I wouldn't change a thing and I managed to bring the spirt of St Bartholomew's to my church...see the post below!

Hopefully some day we'll get to visit this amazing church.

chairs...

where to begin...I absolutely LOVE chairs - I don't what it is...maybe it's the fluidity of them but I LOVE them... I have been collecting them for a few years now but the best yet was when one of our Bridesmaids gave us a present of a pair of fibreglass Panton chairs for our wedding!! They now reside in our home and everyday we use the chairs we got married on!

As my invites had two black lovebirds I hung a small little bird at the back of each chair
