Paris...

While watching Design For Life I spotted this gorgeous shop front! I've never been to Paris but I think it needs to move to the top of my list!

Watching...

I'm currently watching Design For Life with Philippe Starck. It's on Monday nights at 9pm on BBC2. It makes for really good TV and it's interesting to see Starck push the designers and to see his interest in their train of thought as much as the final idea.

Craig Bassam

I love Craig Bassam's clean lines!

Picture message...

My hubby is what you'd call a tough nut or a hard case! So when he sends me pics like this it's all the cuter!

Our honeymoon...

I just remembered that we headed off on our honeymoon this day 7 months ago! I'd love to be back there... still on such a high from the wedding. We went to the Maldives and it was paradise and everything a honeymoon should be.

Dream home...

Oh how I'd love a house like this, and a climate that's clearly divided into seasons!!

I spotted this house today on busybeingfabulous it's by PS Architects

A relaxing and fun weekend...

As I mentioned last weekend was my sisters hen. We had a very relaxing, fun weekend and everything went very smoothly. We stayed in these modern houses on the grounds of the 5 star Castlemartyr Hotel in East Cork. I have been to a lots of hen weekends in the last year and the service we received here was far superior with all towels provided and milk, bread and cereals left in all the houses. (On most of the other hens soap wasn't even provided!) We rented the houses through Natural Retreats (we didn't mention that it was a hen weekend!!)

On Friday night after a spa treatment, people arrived at different times so I made cocktails and we had some nibbles. It was great as everyone got to know each other and it was very relaxed! Saturday morning girls went for a swim, cycled the estate on the bikes provided or walked the Hotels Dogs!!

Saturday afternoon 26 of us enjoyed afternoon tea in the hotel and it was delicious! We started the celebrations that night in one of the houses where I lit 70 candles to set the mood and we drank champagne with strawberries and dressed the bride-to-be up a little! We arranged a mini bus to travel to a lovely local restaurant The Woodland where we had a 6 course meal + lots of wine for 50euro a head! Very reasonable indeed! As it was late and my sister was feeling unwell we headed back to the houses and danced away to a great playlist my husband had supplied!

Sunday morning we all had breakfast and hit the road, hungover but very relaxed!

The wedding countdown is on now...only 3 weeks  to go!!

NYC shopping continued...

One of my favorite shops was Stilla Filante at 156 Ludlow Street in Manhattan, the shop itself was so beautiful, I loved the anglepoise chandelier as you entered and there was an amazing chair in the fitting rooms (photo to follow - photos above from The Fashion Bomb)

NYC shopping...

I have so much more to post on NYC...sorry for the delay I was busy, busy, busy planning my sisters hen! It was last weekend and I have been recovering since!! It was great fun and I'll post some bits about it later...

Firstly - I'm in LOVE with a light duffle coat I got in NYC. It's from a little boutique called MIKS in Lower East Side. It was such a gorgeous shop, casual but beautiful cut clothes, I defo recommend a visit!

address: 100 Stanton St

New York, NY 10002

Beautiful dog beds...

Low on the list of priorities at the moment but these dog beds are so beautiful, I'd love to see Lia tucked up in the top leather one but at 569euro it's just slightly out of the ol price range!!

New York's Village Vanguard

On Monday night when we were shopped out of it, we treated ourselves to a relaxing night in the Village Vanguard a cool original Jazz club, the house band played and it was great in the cosy, small bar!

New York's Cafe Wha

On friday night we headed to the famous Cafe Wha in Grenwich Village...I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting NYC. Steeped in history, the atmosphere is great and the music is just brilliant! I fell asleep when we first went in... morto!! I was just so shopped out, ha ha! But as soon as the music started I was up on my feet and I danced til the end!

New York Din Dins

Our friends took us to Allen And Delancey for a delicious meal, gorgeous cocktails, fab food and fun company, the perfect recipe for a great evening!

New York Sat Night

On Sat night  friends of my hubbys took us out for the night as a wedding present, we had such a great evening, we went to this amazing bar called Death and Company, we walked passed it several times as the signage is so subtle, I noticed a trend like this in New York and I think it's fab! The bar staff are mixoligists and the cocktails were amazing!

New York Hotel

We stayed at The Hudson on West 58th Street. It's just around the corner from Central Park. The Location is great. The hotel was designed by Philippe Starck who named his Hudson chair after this hotel. I loved staying here and I'd highly recommend it but just a couple of negatives...
1. The rooms are tiny, really tiny but if your looking for fab hotel in a fab location this compromise is worth it.
2. The rooms are very dark, they are wood paneled which is gorgeous but the lack of a ceiling light and natural light (due to high rises) was a little annoying.
3. Although it's very good value to stay at the Hudson they make up for it in the restaurant and bar! One glass of wine in the Library was $18!

It was New York Fashion Week while we were there and the hotel was buzzing with models and pretty cool people plus one morning I looked out to check the weather and there was a fashion show/shoot on the roof garden!

New York

I arrived back from New York yesterday, what a holiday! I hardly know where to begin to describe the fun we had. Six of us travelled over, 3 couples so we were out late and up early every day, I'm exhausted! I'll put up some of the highlights of the trip!

I love BoConcept, I have a couch, armchair and table from them, they are great quality and timeless.
